A Lifetime of Why
Growing up I was discouraged from asking my mother "why". This, obviously, prompted me to want to know the reasoning behind everything, inherently leading to a passion for data. I've also always had an innate curiosity to piece together clues like Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, and Turtle Wexler. Upon, digging deeper into what I liked about data I came to learn that I feel truly in my zone of genius when presenting as a liaison between technical teams and senior leaders. This helped narrow my career interest to people-facing roles and my tech stack to those that ease the process of data cleaning, analysis, and visualization.

My new goal is to start a doctoral program with a data quality assurance process research focus! This is a multi-step and year process that with likely involve the following: obtaining recommendation letters, researching programs, receiving admission, potentially moving, and finding a flexible full-time or part-time employer. In the meantime, I have started Sunset Towers Analytics, a management consulting company with a focus on analytics. My goal is to hire staff to manage client work while I further my education in the event I cannot find a flexible full-time or part-time role.

-
Travel abroad for a few months each year
-
I am fascinated with learning about other cultures, especially those in or descending from Europe. This is likely due to my passion for data - which leads me back to the origin of my country! Right now London and Montreal are at the top of my list. Feel free to share any resources with me on how I can turn my dream into a reality here.
-

-
Explore new trends in my industry including: the cloud, robotic process automation (RPA), and digital forensics
-
Having an understanding of these subjects as a good way to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in tech while also incorporating some of their best practices into my current work.
-

-
Research more on my dream industry + job
-
I have always wanted to work in a mixture of business intelligence and the entertainment, media, or luxury goods and services industries. At this time, I'm not quite sure what that job title or company is.

UPDATE: This is an ongoing effort! I have spoken at multiple elementary school career days, with students from my undergraduate university, and most recently spoke on a panel for Uprooted Academy's Major and Career Fair. I plan to find ways to speak with community college and college students in the near future.
